What Oprah Knows for Sure, Sure Helps in a Funk
I'm afraid I've got a little case of the blahs. We had a stressful weekend and I'm feeling a smidge overwhelmed with what needs doing to gear up for the Christmas Season. So it was lovely to read Oprah's "What I know for Sure" column in this month's O Magazine. Here are the highlights of her 20 point list that seemed meant for me at this moment:
2) You define your own life. Don't let other people write the script.
5) Worrying is wasted time. Use the same energy for doing something about whatever worries you.
6) What you believe has more power than what you dream or wish or hope. You become what you believe.
7) If the only prayer you ever say is thank you, that will be enough. (From German theologian and humanist Meister Eckhart.)
14) Find a way to get paid for doing what you love. Then every paycheck will be a bonus.
18) Doubt means don't. Don't move. Don't answer. Don't rush forward.
19) When you don't know what to do get still. The answer will come.
Goodness, she knows her stuff. P.S, Did you see her on 30 Rock? She was hilarious! If you missed it watch it here.

Thanks for the list--truly wonderful. I hope you feel better soon. We need the blahs to make us appreciate the highs all that much more.
