Okay, so I know I've been raving about how wonderful China is and how I never want to come home. Turns out all good things have a dark side. This horrifying creature is one of them. So far, I've only seen them on our "balcony" (actually a dank, dark place where our washing machine resides) but I have now seen two and they are absolutely monstrous. I am maintaining sanity by convincing myself they can only survive out there. I can handle this, after all, there were giant roaches in Albuquerque too. One learns to deal with them. It was just so shockingly large. I made Eric take this picture with a coin to demonstrate scale. He has taken to calling the balcony "the cockroach room" so that's fun. Such adventures we're having!
