The first Banjo Lesson
Tonight I had my first banjo lesson at the Old Town School. Our teacher was really charming and the best part was that in a class of twelve people eleven of them were women! Isn't that awesome? I am learning bluegrass banjo which was invented by Earl Scruggs who you see to your right here. I learned two different strumming patterns tonight : the alternating roll and the basic roll. And I also learned two chords: C and D7. Hooray for the banjo and here's to Earl!

Good for you! Stick with it! There's nothing more satisfying than playing an instrument, though sometimes it can be frustrating, especially when starting out. Sounds like you're in with a great group.
