I'm a huge sucker for the half price calendars that start happening in February. Where else can you get beautiful, frame worthy prints for under $1 a piece? Paper Source has a great selection, including from my favorite printer, Cavallini & Co. Their gorgeous botanical calendars are a treasure trove of beautiful images. After the years is done, I either frame and hang them, or cut them up and use them for paper crafting and collage.
This year I snatched up Paper Source's original calendar which has handy templates on the back so you can turn the pages into file folders, pillow boxes, book marks and so on after the year is out.
This one is actually a set of letterpress postcards to be mailed out to a lucky someone during the month!

Funny I was just looking at Maria Sibylla Merian's wikki page. She travelled to Surinam in 1699! by herself, to paint butterflies and such.
