Make Your Own Deep Conditioning Treatment!

I've been investigating natural beauty treatments lately because I love to be pampered, but can't bear to pay spa prices. Home treatments with things you've already got in your cupboard hold a lot of appeal. This recipe for a natural deep conditioning hair treatment caught my attention as a way to combat the Hawaiian sunshine and salt water that dries my hair right up. Also, I had some buttermilk in the fridge that was on it's way out.

You will need:

1 tbsp Olive Oil
2 tbsp Honey
1 tbsp Buttermilk
A pinch of flour

Microwave the liquid mixture for about a minute, then whisk in the flour to make a paste.

Work the hot paste into your hair from ends to roots and let set for 20-30 minutes. (The perfect amount of time for a buttermilk bath soak as it happens!) Then shampoo and rinse well. My hair looked quite shiny afterward! What are your favorite natural beauty tricks?

  1. I should try this. I color my hair and no matter what I use, it feels so dry. Thanks for the tip!

  2. I love this...will try it! Thanks! I use only fragrance free products and avoid anything with a lot of ingredients. ♥
