Edible Flowers
Have you ever tried squash blossoms? I bought some at the farmer's market just before leaving Minnesota. After washing them and removing the stamens, I lightly floured them and deep fried them in oil for about 3 minutes. After letting them cool and drain on paper towels I sprinkled them with powdered sugar and ate them all up. They were so light and crisp! I rather think a Bellini would have been the perfect accompaniment. Have you tasted anything unusual lately?

They are kind of typical food here in mexico... they're called flor de calabaza (pumpking flower)... You should try sautteing them with some chopped onion and eating it with tortillas and cheese for some real good quesadillas de flor (flower quesadillas)...
They're some of my favorite food!!!
Oooh- Jimena- that sounds heavenly!
My MIL used to make these each summer - yummy!
Have you tried nasturtiums? I like them on salad or in cucumber sanwiches
