DIY: Handmade Jewelery Packaging

I know lots of folks are doing a handmade Christmas this year, and to me, this feels just right. It puts the emphasis on being thoughtful and creative instead of just checking names off a list. (Plus, I think it's lots of fun to make presents!)

I just finished these little baubles (making beaded earrings is so easy, why not?)and needed a pretty way to present them. I managed to come up with a solution with what I had lying around; some postcards, patterned card stock,Labels, a little scotch tape and plastic baggies. (I got mine here, but I see no reason why an ordinary sandwich baggie wouldn't work too.)

I used a hole punch to make holes to hang the earrings on the postcards, and carefully taped the backs in place to prevent the earrings from sliding off. I added a label for To: and From:, slipped the postcard into the baggie, folded a piece of card stock over the top (these were actually greeting cards I re-purposed), stapled it shut and voila- it looks fancy enough to have come from a boutique. I'm liking Handmade Christmas an awfully lot.

Goosefairy- I know exactly what you mean. I find this is the trouble with ALL the men in my life. The girls are easy- the guys are tough. I will keep brainstorming and you'll be the first to know if I come up with something!
