In our country we have costume party in February and we call it PUST.I made costume for my girls. You can see it here: http://skala.moj-album.com/album/1223987/ My favorite custom is Maja the Bee: http://skala.moj-album.com/album/1223987/?os=1224026
Oooh, I love Halloween costumes! When I lived in Prague in 1995, I made the costume I am most proud of, for a Halloween party at an American restaurant... I found poster board and drew sandwich style playing cards of the Queen of Hearts, then made myself a gold crown. Simple, not all that unique, but I was very proud of it.
The best costume I've ever heard of, though, was someone who dressed in gray and carried a spray bottle filled with water: "Cloudy with a chance of rain."
Either Flying Spaghetti Monster (http://www.geocities.com/rockhound107/Spaghetti.jpg), Preparation H Raymond (http://www.geocities.com/rockhound107/DSC00995.JPG) or Motherfuckin' Snakes on a Plane (although I don't have a good picture that shows the tailfin I constructed.
